Summer Scarves

I think scarves are a must-have accessory for every season! They look especially nice during the Summer months, so this week I have scouted for some lightweight Summery scarves, to add that special something to any outfit!

Knit Picks Chroma

I had a lovely parcel arrive through my door today. So exciting when you know something is on it's way, and it finally gets here! And what a wonderful package it was too!

"Lollipop"

I ordered some Chroma yarn, by Knit Picks, for the project I will be starting once I finished my rose and daisy blanket! I'm certainly impressed! It's quite hard to get hold of in the UK, so I was thrilled to get my hands on some!

Balls of rainbows!

The pattern called for this particular yarn, and as it will be a gift I thought it would be nice to stick to the requirements. Unfortunately I couldn't get the natural colour I needed to go with it, so I've had to improvise on that front, but I'm so pleased that I managed to get these!

Knit Picks Chroma is made up of a 70% wool and 30% nylon blend, and is really soft. Perfect for the baby blanket I'm going to be making! I can't wait to get started...but first I need to finish what I'm currently working on. I have a few more squares to attach into the rose and daisy blanket, followed by the border, and then I'm done!

Ready For Sewing

This morning, at approximately 05:10, I finished the last square in my current blanket project! I was so excited to do that last stitch, and was determined to get it done before I finished my shift. Thankfully, I got it done and I can now share a preview layout of the finished piece!

Lots and lots of squares!

Obviously, all of the squares need pressing, and I need to sew in all of the loose ends, but otherwise it's ready to rock! So tomorrow I will start some frantic stitching, before starting the border to finish the blanket. I'm so pleased with the outcome. I just laid out the squares to get a rough idea of the overall effect for this photo, so the finished blanket will be more thought out in the colour placements. I'm really pleased with how it looks though!

Looks Like Lecter

This morning I spent a little while in the garden, sunning myself and feeding Boo the Tortoise. He had his usual pile of peas, and I then decided to give him his Summer favourite - strawberries. I wasn't quite expecting this outcome...

The Silence of the Lambs

I'm a huge fan of the Hannibal Lecter series (both the books, and the films) and instantly thought of Dr. Lecter when I saw Boo's strawberry covered face. All I could think of was the famous scene in The Silence of the Lambs, when Lecter murders the guards and escapes captivity! It's, without a doubt, one of my favourite ever movie scenes! So I've now decided that tonight I am going to watch the trilogy (I refuse to acknowledge Hannibal Rising) back-to-back, whilst I crochet some more blanket squares. And for those of you who are unaware of this incredible scene...

Oh I do love Dr. Lecter!

The Make-For-Anyone Blanket

I was given an old copy of Mollie Makes yesterday, and was thrilled to find a pattern for a blanket, using the Crofter DK yarn that I have used in previous projects!

Mollie Makes - Issue 24

I love using this yarn and had never thought of putting it to use in a blanket, but I thought these squares looked absolutely stunning! This is definitely being added to my ever growing project pile. I have so much to finish first though!

Foxes

I've always really loved foxes! People usually think of them as vermin but I've always considered them to be really beautiful animals. They also make great amigurumi subjects!

35 Daisies

I've been stitching away and now have a grand total of 35 daisy squares, to add to my ever growing pile!

Lovely sunny daisies

They are looking great and I can really visualise how the finished blanket is going to look now! The colours are fab too - I love these squares. It's great to work with such jolly colours! Anyway I have 15 more to go, and then the long process of stitching it all together, tying in the ends, and adding a border. I am aiming to have it finished for the end of the month!
