Slippers

The snow outside has all melted, but you still need to keep your toes nice and toasty in this horrible January weather! So I've dug out some slippers to share!

Lucky Clover

I've spent my day scrapbooking today! I'm so behind with it, but today I managed four pages, including one of my craft fayres, and my time in Devon with Dave back in August! I just wanted to share something I'm rather proud of from today's creativity!

Four lucky leaves

When Dave and I were in Devon, we went for a walk around the local area that we were staying in, and found a four leaf clover! I have kept it all this time, drying and flattened in my camera manual book, and today finally came the time to put it into my scrapbook! But how do you put a dried leaf into your scrapbook, and try to preserve it so it won't just disintegrate within a few days?

I made my little clover leaf a little plastic nest; cutting up the polythene bag from some of my embellishments and sandwiching it between two pieces, using double sided tape. I then mounted it behind a little frame tag, and backed it with white paper, so the leaf would stand out a bit more. I was quite happy with the outcome, actually! So now our lucky clover can live forever in it's airtight K&Co fortress!

Snowmen

As you've seen, we have had snow in the UK for the last week or so! It's mostly melted where I live, in the South, but some places still have quite a bit! I'm sure people will remember this year's snowmen for a long time to come!

Twit Twoo

On the subject of gloves (see this week's Treasury Tuesday) one of my Christmas presents in 2012 were some really awesome owl gloves, that my Mum knitted for me!

Hoot hoot!

It has been really cold here the last few days, with all the snow, so I wore them to work last night. I got a few other pairs of gloves for Christmas, but I really love the way the stitches make up the owl shape on these - I have a very clever Mother! I'm not sure what pattern she used for these, but I will happily ask if any of you would like to make a pair of your own!

Snow In Dorset

When we've had one of the warmest Winter seasons ever, the last thing we expected to hear in January was that there was snow on the way. However, for the last week there have been warnings going out all over the country about snow, and today it showed up...

Rosie Red covered in a snowy blanket!

There's quite a bit actually, and it's still snowing now. Above is the view from my lounge window, out to our road. Not many people have gone out today, as it's too dangerous (people in countries used to snow will laugh at that, but in the UK, the slightest hint of snow brings the whole country to a standstill every single year).

What's left of my back garden

I really like snow usually, but I'm not relishing the thought of driving to work in it later tonight. I'm sure I'll be fine though, and emergency precautions are in place so everything should run pretty smoothly. I'm determined to get to work! I hate how a lot of people just use it as an excuse to stay off...I am getting there one way or another!

Rear view, from upstairs

Usually, just above that tree on top of the bungalow roof, you can see Maiden Castle. Just a mist of white today though, even though the castle is only about a mile from home.

It's still snowing...

Lovely Glovely

A very belated Happy New Year! We have snow in parts of the UK at the moment, so what better way to enjoy it than to protect your hands and have a snowball fight!
